I was raised in the Christian faith by my Mom who made certain her children, 3 boys and 1 girl, attended Sunday School at a local Congregational fellowship. Following my teen years I drifted away from regular church attendance and when I was invited by friends I would always have something else scheduled. Yes, I had no time for God, though if the subject came up in conversation I would defend the Christian faith.

When I was about 30 years old the Lord spun me around and focused my attention. What had been head knowledge became a heart passion and "feeling". I desired to know more about Christ and what I believed. I began to attend a Bible study and services at East Brookfield Baptist Church.

During my growth as a Christian one of my brothers became saved and together we were baptised. Eventually I joined the singles group that had been started at EBBC and met a woman named Jacqueline Smith. I am not kidding, that was her name. Jacqueline and I exchanged greetings and that was all that came of that meeting. At least that day. Over the following weeks we would chat at church and I began to increasingly enjoy our conversations. Eventually I asked her for a date and less than 1 year later, on June 22, 1996 we were married. During our 'courtship year' I had the pleasure of lighting a candle for her at her baptism.

Since our wedding day my wife and I have moved several times and each time we made it a priority to attend a solid, Bible believing and teaching church. Lest anyone doubt that the Lord directs paths, consider this; the first few places we lived were Church Street , Deacon Street and then Redemption Rock Trail.

My wife is a tender heart and phenomenal prayer warrior. She truly is, as Solomon wrote in Proverbs 18:22 "a good thing". She and I are active in our current church , the Church @ Spruce Creek. Jacqueline is a trustee and is generally responsible for the flower decorations and landscaping. I am a senior usher and serve on the Finance Committee. We have made several close friends at this church and it is a blessing in our life. God is good. We continue to lean on God and ask for His guidance as we grow as a couple. It's not always easy but our foundation, faith in Christ, is solid.
