So called "controlled expansion subsonic" ammo in the 1980s/1990s was intended to be fired from suppressed submachine guns. It was subsonic so it did not defeat the reason the gun was suppressed. "Controlled" expansion typically meant no expansion. Cripes.
Even with body armor, a heavy enough bullet moving fast enough is going to hurt.
The "NY" trigger, or worse the NY+, that was installed on Glocks is a tragedy.
Glock magazines originally did not fall free from the well. They were not designed to do so. Regretably too much noise was made and that was changed.
A "trigger cocking only" action (mistakenly called "double action only") on an autoloading pistol seems a bit stupid. You have the equivalent of a magazine fed revolver.
An exception to the above would be an autoloader with decent trigger (like a Glock) and a safety mechanism that disengages the trigger group so the gun is somewhat proprietary in nature and cannot be fired simply by squeezing the trigger.
If you need a heavy trigger pull "because it's safer", buy a revolver and make every shot count.
Anyone who did not trust the trigger (and I knew a few) on the original Glocks should not have carried a Glock.
Keep your finger off the trigger and the gun won't fire; even a Glock.
Most problems with Glocks were caused by the user not holding the gun firmly.
Stun guns do not incapacitate most people. I know, I've been stun-gunned and seen several others as well.
"Pepper spray" does not always work on everyone. I know, I've seen it not work.
There is no such thing as an accident with a gun. You were careless, or stupid, or both.
When you think basic safety has become "automatic" rather than deliberate, read the above rule.
Never disable a safety mechanism, even a magazine disconnect or grip safety, on a gun intended for defensive purposes.
You can never miss fast enough to win or survive. Take your time quick. There is no 2nd place winner.
